Welcome to the
EPIC Challenge 2026
Application Stage
*ANNOUNCEMENT: Should you have questions, comments, difficulties, or even frustrations with the application form, please contact Nuno Soares (nunosoares@spuc.org.uk) and schedule a 30-minute chat on Wednesday, 30 September, or Thursday, 1 October, between 08:00 and 16:00 CET.*
The EPIC Challenge exists to accelerate the end of abortion in Europe by funding and mentoring high-impact projects that deliver measurable results. We are glad that your organisation is considering entrusting a project to this process. We look forward to a strong collaboration that helps save more lives and supports the flourishing of families and societies across Europe.
The application consists of two steps:
-
Filling in this application form, made of 7 sections and attachments (Part A)
-
Submit a short video (more instructions at the end of the form) (Part B)
After the application stage, we will check whether you are eligible for the EPIC Challenge 2026. In practice, this means: your idea address one of the five strategic areas; the project timeline falls within 2027 or slightly later; and you are a registered, trustworthy European organisation that EPIC can fund. If you are eligible, you will have the opportunity to receive feedback and update your application. This will be followed by the evaluation and selection periods, and the announcement of the awarded projects.
All eligible applicants will be invited to join the EPIC Network (more about the EPIC Network in Section 6).
One of EPIC’s core values is collaboration—encouraging different pro-life organizations to work together. If you are having difficulty finding a partner organization, we recommend reaching out to the European Federation One of Us, which has more than 50 European member organizations, or to the WhatsApp group from the Pro-Life Global, which includes nearly 150 international organizations and individuals.
Note: The EPIC Challenge does not apply to projects that have already concluded, or that will conclude in the first months of 2027.
We know the form is long and can feel slightly overwhelming. We designed it this way because applying is also a practical way to introduce you to how we think about impact metrics and its relation to strategy, and project execution. If you have any questions along the way, would like a Word file of the application so you can draft answers at your own pace and paste them into the form, or would find a completed sample of Part A helpful, please reach out to nunosoares@spuc.org.uk — note, the sample is not a real application.
The immediate next steps will be:
- 24 September at 18h (Central European Time): Q&A <- (please try the form first and bring questions)
- 8 October at 23h (Central European Time): Application deadline.
What the Jury Looks for
We score applications on seven points. Understanding these helps you write a stronger application:
-
Strategic fit – Does the project clearly attack one of the five priority areas?
-
Clear goal and measures – Is there one measurable and time-bound Specific Important Goal along with practical activities to track progress?
-
Collaboration and human dignity – Do you work with others and defend the full dignity of mother, father and child?
-
Realistic capacity – Can your team actually deliver this project?
-
Co-financing and milestones – Is the money plan realistic and the timeline clear?
-
Network effects – Does the project inspire replication across Europe?
-
Risk management – Have you thought about what could go wrong and how to handle it?
